Heartland Wines of Langhorne Creek have been awarded a platinum medal for their 2014 Directors Cut Shiraz at the prestigious Decanter World Wine Awards in London announced on the 24th of May.
A team of 275 judges, including many of the world’s top experts, blind tasted 16,903 wines tasted in the competition. Australia had a strong medal tally with six Best in Show medals and 20 Platinums .
Of the Directors Cut wine, the judges noted “Savoury juicy seductive dark fruits on the nose, the palate has long and luscious savoury cedar wood, vanilla and coconut complexity to the vibrant fresh red fruit, delicious touch of vanilla in the finish.”
Platinum medals are awarded to wines that scored over 96 points.
